Colt - 3rd Model Dragoon - percussion revolver - .44 cal.; 7.5” barrel. - Condition is good to fair. - Gray gun w/ dark mottling; dings on cylinder; patina brass grip frame.  Traces of scene on cylinder, other markings generally good.  S/n 15058 matches on triggerguard & frame, barrel s/n obscured by loss to bottom of barrel lug, but looks as if it may match.  Backstrap s/n 16423 is one digit off from cylinder s/n 16323.  Lever numbered 84, wedge not numbered; missing wedge screw. - Working, nipples intact; visible rifling in dirty bore.  Smooth wood grips appear to be correct type but do not fit possibly, possibly replaced, few handling marks, minor loss at left toe. - s/n 15058 - antq - item #AC-5058 - $4,850

Colt - 1851 Navy - early London First Model - .36 cal.; 7.5” barrel. - Fine condition. - Brass gripstraps retain about 30% thinning tarnished silver; cylinder & barrel both a dark plum-blue, with barrel in particular giving the appearance of a solid dull-blue color.  Barrel has a band of deep blood-type pitting around the front sight area, heavier on left side than right; cylinder has scene very strong for about 2/3 of the circumference, and about gone on the remaining third (i.e., over about two chambers).  Other markings excellent, including London barrel address & British proof marks.  Frame & loading lever retain very strong case colors, a bit faded on left side of frame, and especially strong on lever.  Some pitting on left recoil shield.  My guess is that gun lay on left side in a damp environment or uncleaned blood for a while many decades ago. - Working; good nipples, safety pins intact.  Good bore.  Grips have most varnish, minor loss at left toe, larger loss at right toe.  All matching numbers, including lever, except for wedge which is marked “284” instead of “384”, plausibly a manufacture mis-mark or mismatch. - s/n 384, ca. 1853 - antq - item #AC-384 - $4,850

Colt - 1849 Pocket Model - percussion revolver, w/ a case & accessories.. - .31 cal.; five shots. - 4" octagon barrel. - Condition is excellent plus. - 98% bright shiny old full nickel plate finish; w/ small bubbles on rear of barrel & frame, some dings around the wedge, and there are 4 intentional small notches on the bottom of the rear of the right side of the barrel. Markings are all distinct, including stagecoach cylinder scene, although some are a bit light. This may well be original factory finish, and if not, it is certainly old & high quality. One piece wood grips have slight handling marks, notable on the right side, and are generally excellent w/ 98% finish. Hartford barrel address. - Although the gun fits snugly in the old wood case, the compartments appear to be for another model, and the case may be more recent than the gun. The green cloth lining is an inexpert more recent replacement. Case is sound w/ scratches & dings on the exterior, and a finished bottom. Includes a small flask & Colt’s Patent mold, both of which appear old & original, and a couple cap tins. - [cons.eemo.otsprc] - s/n178775 - antq - item #AC-49EE - $2,850

Colt - 1849 Pocket Model - percussion revolver. - .31 cal., six shots - 5" octagon barrel. - Very good condition. - Barrel & cylinder both rather even gray; frame has faded case color mottling; light patina brass gripstraps w/ traces of silver. About 60% stagecoach holdup cylinder scene; all other markings fine; matching numbers including rammer & wedge. Very good one piece wood grips w/ light usage marks. New York barrel address. - [cons-ksf8-dpor] - s/n221601 - antq - item #AC-1601 - $985

Colt - Model 1851 Navy - percussion revolver - .36 cal; 7.5” barrel. - Condition is good to fair. - Dark metal; a previous cataloger believed this gun to have been polished with artificial patina applied; I find this plausible but not obvious to me.  Dings on the barrel; barrel address & frame marking are faint but legible; matching s/n's (except cylinder) are strong, so possibly they've been freshened.  No trace of scene or other markings on cylinder. Some replacement screws. - Functioning, but could use tuning.  Refinished or replaced slightly undersized grips. - s/n 173252 - antq - item #AC-3252 - $1,150

Colt - Model 1862 Police revolver - .36 cal. perc; 5.5" barrel. - About good condition. - Cleaned & polished bright, some markings loss; patina brass grip frame w/ traces of silver. Good mech. Replaced wedge, missing wedge screw & front sight. Large splinter off rear right side of grip taped on. - s/n 39640 - antq - #AC-9640 - $835
Colt - Model 1851 Navy - with NSW marking - .36. cal. perc.;7.5" barrel. - Good condition. - Mottled gray & black cleaned metal, some areas of pitting; cyl. scene gone, other markings good; patina brass grip frame. Replaced rammer, wedge & a couple screws. Not working (cylinder binds). Good grips w/ usage dings. - Cylinder number is a mismatch, other numbers match w/ "S" stamped above or below each number. The butt of the grip frame is stamped "NSW / 11". This revolver is in the serial number range reported as issued to the state of New South Wales in Australia in Nathan Swayze’s book on the 1851 Navy. He lists 8 guns in the s/n range 128000’s and 130000’s, no ownership markings. Other New South Wales attributed guns are reported as variously marked "Police of New South Wales" (w/ number), "N.S.W.G." (w/ number), & other markings. He does not report any marking similar to this one. I don’t know whether the marking is legitimate or not. - s/n 12997 s - antq - item #AC-9997 - $1,600

Colt - Model 1861 Navy - percussion revolver, first year production. - 36 cal; 7.5” round barrel. - Good condition. - Bright lightly polished metal with light pitting & peppering overall, deepening to moderate pitting in areas.  Traces of cylinder scene; other markings legible, including matching numbers.  Light patina brass grips frame.  Working; sound grips have few blemishes & are very slightly shrunken. - Previous cataloger described this as nickel finish; I suspect it may have just been polished to bright metal. - s/n 2307 - antq - item #AC-2307 - $2,250

Colt Model 1862 Police - fluted cylinder percussion revolver. - .36 cal.; 4.5” round barrel, five shots. - Very good condition. - Dark metal; light patina brass grip frame with generous remainders of silver plate in protected areas.  Good markings, matching serial numbers except for mismatched wedge & unnumbered cylinder. - Mostly functioning, but needs hand spring help.  Sound worn grips with usage marks.  This model is sometimes cited as the most streamlined & aesthetically pleasing lines of the Colt percussion line. - s/n 4928, ca. 1861, first year production. - antq - item #AC-4928 - $1,750

Colt - Model 1860 Army - percussion revolver - .44 cal.; 8” barrel. - Good condition. - Dark mottled metal; cylinder scene is faint but visible, other markings strong, including matching serial numbers (wedge off by 1 digit) and F & H inspector marks.  Dings on butt. - Good mech & nipples.  Grips show heavy use, large chip to right toe, strong remainders of cartouche.  Ca. 1863 Civil War martial revolver, 3 screw, cut for shoulder stock. - s/n 117834 - antq - item #AC-7834 - $1,850
