Smith and Wesson revolvers listed are "Number Model" guns, produced since Smith & Wesson began assigning Model Numbers to each gun in the 1950's.  For example "The .44 Magnum" became the "Model 29".  Earlier "named model" Smith & Wessons are listed here.

CHARLES PETTY COLLECTION - Guns with an "HCP" item number prefix are from the personal collection of noted gun writer, Charles Petty.

Smith & Wesson - 44 Magnum - cased four-screw Pre-mod 29 revolver - 44 Mag - 4" barrel. - About as new condition. - About 100% original bright blue. Appears as if unfired, and is about perfect throughout except for a tiny chip from the front corner of the right panel of the unnumbered diamond center target grips - Case has scratched on lid and a very good interior w/ blue flocked lining mostly intact. - [ks8f] - s/nS175694 - C&R ffl - item #HCP4-04 - $2,300

Smith & Wesson - Mod. 629-3 Magna Classic - cased revolver; SHOT show prototype. - .44 Mag. - 7.5" barrel. - Cased, as new. - Bright polished stainless steel; perfectionists may see small areas of extremely slight handling scuffing, but generally perfect throughout. Finger grip smooth wood grips. In fitted presentation wood case, with Magna Classic certificate made out to Charles Petty, & cardboard box. Eight front sight blades in blade box. 1 of 3000 made in 1990. - Letter from Charles Petty reports this was a display model for the 1989 Shot Show. He reports that this s/n is from standard 629 production since this was the show prototype. He bought it directly from S&W. When he received it, there was no hammer nose (as required for the SHOT show), and he installed a firing hammer. Both hammers are included. - [ks8f] - s/nBEP8296 - FFL - item #HCP1-02 - $1,350

Smith & Wesson - Mod. 29-5 Magna Classic - cased revolver - .44 Mag. - 7.5" barrel. - Cased, as new. - 100% original blue; perfect throughout. Finger grip smooth wood grips. In fitted presentation wood case, some slight bubbling to leather inlay in lid. Smith & Wesson - Model 29 - four screw revolver - .44 Magnum - 6.5" barrel. - Very good condition. - Frame 97% original bright blue; barrel 90-95%; cylinder thinning to maybe 80%. Smith & Wesson - Model 17 - K-22 Masterpiece revolver w/ box. - .22 LR - 6" barrel. - Very good condition. - 95% original blue, with muzzle wear & some wear to finish on cylinder. Excellent case colors; very good mech & bore. Very light usage marks to diamond center grips. - In a worn 2-pc solid border blue S&W Inc. box for this model. Smith & Wesson - Model 25-2 - Model 1955 revolver - .45 acp - 6" barrel. - About excellent condition. - 97% blue, strong spots of muzzle wear on each side of barrel, spot of wear on cylinder, otherwise crisp & clean. Rare factory error S&W - Model 629-4 - .44 Mag Mountain gun, with no external markings - .44 Magnum; 4” barrel. - About as new in box. - Gun has been fired, otherwise about perfect in original plastic case, with literature.  Typical Mountain Gun configuration with tapered barrel & chambered edge fluted cylinder. - YOW!  No external S&W markings at all on this gun.  No barrel address.  No logo.  No “Mountain Gun”.  No nuthin.  By product code, this could have been an all laser-marked unfluted  Mountain Gun.  Verrrrry interesting…. - s/n BUB3577 - FFL - item #HB-3577 - $1,450

S&W - Model 29-9 - Performance Center - .44 Magnum - About as new in box. - 6.5" barrel; about 100% bright factory nickel w/ a slight cylinder ring. Unlabeled blue plastic case. - Special PC features, intended to convey look & feel of early classic N frames, include addition of 4th screw at top of side plate, pre-war style unribbed round barrel, gold bead front sight, and diamond center checkered wood grips w/ beautiful grain. S&W - Model 36 - Chiefs Special revolver. - .38 Special - 3" barrel. - About as new. - Early semi-flat latch; pinned barrel. 99-100% original blue with a couple tiny rust spots on left side of topstrap; possibly fired, but if so, very little & never carried.
