June 2006 -

Long time, no update!  Here's what we've been up to the first half of 2006 that has kept the website a bit more stagnant than usual:

Here's what's coming next from Old Town Station:

Kewl beans! -  Roy Huntington did a real nice article about our operation in the July/August issue of American Handgunner.

New Links -

Good news! - STOLEN HISTORIC GUNS RECOVERED - We are advised that the guns listed on our Stolen Guns report page as stolen from the Ft. Davis historic site have been recovered as of 6/13/06.  They reportedly turned up in North Carolina.  Also, Theodore Roosevelt's San Juan Hill Colt stolen from Sagamore Hill 16 years ago has been recovered, and will be back on display at Sagamore Hill as of 6/14/06.

There's a 50/50 chance we'll be doing an autumn gun auction the last weekend in October, check back for details.

*  JUNE 2005 - UPDATE IN PROGRESS!  New listings are being added, and sold items are being removed.  We only do major website updates about three times a year, so check back as new categories are updated.

If you want to be sure not to miss our best finds, be sure to subscribe to our mail order catalog, the Old Town Station Dispatch.  New inventory is listed there first, and many of our greatest guns never make it to the website.

*  JUNE 18 AUCTION CANCELLED!!!!   Collection withdrawn at seller's request.  My apologies for any inconvenience this may cause (it's certainly caused a bit for the Kulls & me!)

Added NRA and other Firearms Condition Rating Systems

JANUARY, 2005

Watch for a major website update in Mid-January, with lots of new listings from the latest Dispatch (plus we'll delete "sold" items - something we only do occasionally).

Links added.

Dispatch #43-44 was mailed to subscribers via First Class mail just before Christmas, and to non-subscribing previous customers via bulk mail during the week between Christmas & New Years.

*  December 2004 -

The next Dispatch should be received by paying subscribers during the week before Christmas!  Yeah, I know, it's not the greatest timing, but we send them when I get 'em done, and this one took a while.  I think it'll be worth the wait.  It includes a wonderful huge collection of early large N-frame .44, .45 & .455 caliber S&W hand ejectors, some beautiful modern engraved Brownings, a great grouping of early antique muzzleloaders, some nice auto-pistols (modern & collectible), some historically attributed firearms (Custer range SAA, anyone?) our usual assortment of original Old West and military firearms -- a wonderful assortment overall.  sneak preview pix

We added extra pages of color to this already extra-large Dispatch, so it will count as two issues on your subscription (Dispatch #44 & 45).  I think you'll REALLY like it!

Our guns are listed first in our mail order catalog.  After the catalog mails by first class to subscribers, we send out issues to previous recent customers who don't subscribe via bulk mail.  After the rush of orders from those two mailings dies down, we list remaining items on this website.

A subscription is $35 for about 7 issues over about two years.  You can subscribe w/ Visa or M/C by calling Jennifer at 913-492-3000, 9-4 Central weekdays, or send a check to Old Town Station, POB 14040, Lenexa KS 66285.  More subscription info here.  Tips on WHY to subscribe here.

* Updated links, stolen guns & NRA / elections / politics.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to our friends, subscribers, customers & readers!  May your holidays be filled with joy, light, family and God's love.  May you and yours be safe and prosperous in 2005!

October 2004 - Updated links, adding several and removing dead links.

*  Added sneak preview pix of Classic N-Frame S&W revolver and Browning firearms to be offered for sale in our next mail order catalog, Old Town Station Dispatch, tentatively to mail to subscribers in late November.

*  Added Political & Election information page.  Also, link to NRA candidate ratings.

Links page updated - added Firearm Buzz  AR-15 Forum  The Firearms Forum  Curio and relic Forum   Antique Firearms listings   ArmsCollectors.com  Culvers Shooting Page  -- Removed non-responding links.  Added a section listing some of the best collector oriented Gun Shows in the country.

September 2004 - Website update in progress, listing all new inventory (plus deleting sold pieces & updating previous listings, many with reduced prices).    We only add new inventory about 3 times a year, so check it out while it's fresh.  We pretty much update in the order that gun categories are listed on the index page (i.e., flintlock pistols first, shotguns last), so please check back periodically to catch the field that interests you.

August 6, 2004

*  Added sneak preview partial listing of S&W's to be included in our mail order catalog Dispatch #42.  Sorry, no advance sales & no additional info or pricing on first time listings available.

Dispatch #42 will mail to paying subscribers on about August 11.  Complimentary copies to previous customers who do not subscribe will go out about a week later by bulk mail.  To subscribe, call Jennifer 9-4 Central weekdays at 913-492-3000.  Subscription $35 US, $50 international.  Single issue $5 US.

PHONE LINES WILL BE SWAMPED FOR A COUPLE WEEKS, as always when a catalog mails.  Please do not call with general info questions during this time.

*  If you are calling to order a gun from the catalog, say you will take it, when you leave a message, to avoid disappointment.  Include your name & phone with the item number & page number of the gun(s) you want.  Leave a message on the phone machine, or send a fax or email.  The guns are committed on a first-come, first-serve basis, and "I want to talk with you about it" is NOT the same as "I'LL TAKE IT".  Prices are firm.  This is how we've always done it, and the best way we know of to be fair to our customers & subscribers, THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE & UNDERSTANDING!

* NEXT MAJOR WEBSITE UPDATE w/ NEW LISTINGS will probably be Mid-September to early-October.  We will be pretty busy with orders from the new catalog throughout the rest of August & early September.  When we get a chance to catch up, we'll list remaining new items here on ArmchairGunShow.com.

*  Added Remember the blood of heroes featured link.

July 30, 2004 - The Dispatch should go to the printer on August 2nd, which we HOPE means you'll see them in your mailbox sometime between August 10 & August 15.  Great stuff this issue, especially for S&W and Colt collectors!  See SNEAK PREVIEW

June 19, 2004 - Added links for Recommended Gun Shows to links page

June 25, 2004 -- Added SNEAK PREVIEW photos from our next mail order catalog.

June 16, 2004 -- Next Dispatch mail order catalog of antique guns & collector firearms will mail to subscribers mid-summer 2004.  We will bought an outstanding collection of Smith & Wesson Hand Ejectors out of western Virginia, and a nice group of early Colts, including several cartridge conversions, out of central Texas that will be offered there for sale for the first time.  Why subscribe?

New material! - Our most-requested editorial, Confessions of a gun accumulator, and the beginning of Ask the Gun Guy Q&A archives.

Also, links added to Gun SafetyListings added to Stolen Guns.

May 3, 2004 -- MAJOR UPDATE COMPLETED.  All new listings from Dispatch #41 have been added, and sold items deleted.  Also added an explanation of why it's important to subscribe if you want to get first shot at the great guns we find (many of which are never listed on the website, but are snatched up by our snail mail subscribers!)

Late April, 2004 - Major site update in progress!  I'm adding new inventory from Dispatch #41, and removing sold items.  Should be completed by May Day.  These major updates are done only about 3 times a year, so check your areas of interest for new listings before they sell!

4/8/04:  Family emergency, your patience & understanding appreciated!  After a brief and unexpected hospitalization, my beloved Mother passed away 4/6/04.  Thanks to the many folks who have expressed their condolences and support!  This left Jennifer to tackle the huge task of taking orders & processing shipment from our just mailed Dispatch mail order catalog pretty much on her own -- always our busiest time of the year.  This extra load for Jennifer will continue a bit longer, since after Mom's funeral I'll be heading out to the NRA Annual Meeting.   Special thanks to her for carrying our little operation through this hectic time, and to our customers for their support & patience!  My apologies to any who were inconvenienced. Things should be back to normal (well, as "normal" as things ever get around here, which is not very) in late April.  -- Jim Supica.

*  Fraudulent listing of OTS inventory by "thewinvestor" on GunBroker.com:

It's been called to my attention that a purported "seller" using the name "thewinvestor" has been placing apparently fraudulent listing of my inventory on GunBroker.com.  Please see the following two items specifically:

http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=17316046

(a S&W Model 147A auto-pistol) &

http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=17315966

(a Colt Model 1851 "Navy-Navy")

Both of the photos & descriptions posted on GunBroker.com by "thewinvestor" are stolen directly from my ArmchairGunShow.com website and Old Town Station Dispatch mail order catalog.  Both guns listed and pictured are securely in our vault and have NOT been sold to anyone else at this date, and we have NOT listed these on GunBroker.com.

I have seen examples of this type of fraud before, where the supposed seller steals listings from elsewhere and collects the money from prospective buyers & disappears.  I think this type of fraud is very hard to police, and believe that GunBroker.com is NOT at fault in any way.  I am attempting to contact GunBroker directly, which seems to be quite difficult without registering.

We have a family emergency here right now, and I will not be able to give much immediate time to pursuing this matter.  I am posting this message in several gun forums to help spread the word, and would greatly appreciate any assistance in ending this type of abuse.  Thanks to Lyle for calling this to my attention.

Jim Supica, President, Old Town Station Ltd.

3/22/04 :   DISPATCH WILL MAIL MARCH 30 to paid subscribers via First Class Mail.   The Dispatch is our mail order catalog of antique guns & collectable firearms for sale.  All our finds go into the mail order catalog first, and then remaining items are posted on this website.  Subscription info here.  We do send comp copies to regular customers who do not pay for a subscription, but they go out later by bulk mail.  Comp copies are currently scheduled to mail April 7.   Bulk mail can take a while, so it's best to pay for a subcript. if you're a serious collector.

Next major website update is usually 30 to 60 days after the catalog has mailed  Check back in May for lots of new listings here!

We're BUYING GUNS at the TULSA GUN SHOW April 4th & 5th.  Our table is always at the top of the stairs between the two levels, on the front wall.  We'll be buying outright, and also can take guns for consignment.  If you're selling to a dealer at the show, you owe it to yourself to check with Jim Supica at the OTS table for an offer before you sell!  The Tulsa Show is the World's Biggest Gun Show, and really worth scheduling a trip to if you enjoy guns or gun shows.

Added link to ClintonGunBan.com - NRA-ILA's update site to defeat renewal of the so-called "assault weapon" ban.

2/24/04 - DISPATCH DELAYED!  My camera blew up.  A bunch of guns came in that I wanted to get into this issue.  The dog ate my homework.  Bottom line, our next OTSD mail order catalog of collector firearms for sale will PROBABLY mail to subscribers in late March.

6/10/03 - ArmchairGunShow.com has been completely revised, with a new format, and all listings fresh!  I realize it's been a long time since our last update, and the inventory had gotten a bit stale, with many items sold.  This new format should make it much easier for us to keep the site updated on a regular basis.  Please check back regularly, and thanks for your patience! -- Jim Supica, Pres., Old Town Station, Ltd.
